The Empty Nest Breakup

Empty nest syndrome is inevitable for parents

The Empty Nest Breakup

Many couples put off taking time to be together, and they often find this is a problem once their children have grown and moved away from home. Empty nest syndrome has been the bane of many parents, and they suddenly find they have nothing in common. Some people learn to embrace the extra time they have together, but others find they would rather end the relationship because they have drifted too far apart.

Having a partner, one who has been there for many years, is a comfort to people. They become used to going out to social events together, and they also have someone to depend upon when life becomes difficult. This does not necessarily mean the couple can communicate successfully when there is no crisis to overcome or event both wish to attend, and couples are shocked to find they no longer have the same feelings for each other. It takes a great deal of hard work to remedy this situation, and some couples would rather not make the investment.
